Have you been DBS checked?
Yes, as part of Rachels previous employment working in a childrens nursery, Rachel has had an advanced database check performed.
However, it is not actually a legal requirement for face painters to have this check done as they always working alongside children with adult / parent / guardian supervision. Only certain companies can run a full advanced DBS check.
As a sole trader this check can not be performed by oneself.
How many faces can be painted in an hour?
It takes approximately 4 to 6 minutes for each design to be painted on an individual. We aim to paint a minimum of 13 faces an hour. We can sometimes fit in a couple more depending on how well the children have sat during having their faces painted. So as a rule we would say that for a 2hr booking slot, that should be enough time for 25 faces to be painted. Please bear this in mind when making a booking with us. Quite often we will have another event to attend after yours. So to avoid any disappointment please ensure that you book an appropriate time slot for your event. We always aim to ensure that all faces get painted on the day, We always also make sure we arrive early and in plenty of time to be set up ready to start painting at the start of your chosen booking time.
Are your paints & materials hygienically safe?
We work to the strictest guide lines when it comes to health and safety! Feather Rose Designs only use the highest quality face paints available on the market, predominantly Diamond FX Face Paint. According to the manufacturers, Diamond FX Essential and Metallic colours have been formulated with FDA approved pigments for cosmetic application.
Diamond FX face products are not tested on animals. The product also contains no ingredients derived from nuts, and all face paint colours are paraben free as well as free of perfumes.
Diamond FX face paints can be removed easily with just soap and water or an unscented baby wipe. Always make sure to be gentle, excessive rubbing of your skin can cause irritation. Also, we suggest not to use scented baby wipes since the perfume can cause allergic reactions.
Glitter tattoo removal process.
The glue I use is water based and can last approximately 5 days. It is completely safe for skin and it is fine to get the area wet if you want to keep your tattoo. To remove it you should use an oil based product ie baby oil (or even baby moisturiser). Gently rub the oil on the tattoo and leave for a couple of minutes before wiping away. Soap and water will also remove it but does require a bit of scrubbing.
All brushes and materials used are fully cleaned and disinfected after each individual client has been painted. We unfortunately can not paint anyone's face that may have broken sores, cuts and grazes, runny noses, traces of food etc.. To avoid any disappointment we can paint designs either down the arm or leg instead of a face painting if the person has any of the listed issues. We will also not paint any child under the age of 36 months / 3 years of age. This is partly for insurance reasons and also because babies skin is far more delicate up until they have reached 36 months.
What events do you cater for and how can i book you?
Feather Rose Designs offer a full face painting and glitter tattoo service covering Leicester and the East Midlands. We cater for all kinds of events, Not only do we attend children's parties, but we also attend a lot of corporate days and business functions, many fetes and carnivals. We are also particularly lucky to have been booked by a few local councils for their different types of events. We have and will be attending various street markets and fairs and Christmas light switch on's just to name a few. We are always interested in helping out with local charity events also.
If you know the date and times plus the location of where your event will be held, then you can use our very easy to use online booking system to book your party / event. It's quick and easy to use and will take approximately 2 minutes to complete. We do ask for a booking deposit of £25 to be paid at the time of making an online booking. If for any reason you choose to cancel your booking with us the deposit is non refundable! any remaining balance owed for your booking can either be paid by PayPal or on the day of the event.
